Norwich isn’t a City known for its Hip-hop talent. Yet rapper/producer COLL has made his way up the ladder slowly but surely with his own brand of Story telling Hip-hop infused with catchy melodies on self produced instrumentals.
Influenced by Jay-Z, Kanye West, Wretch 32 & Timbaland to name a few. COLL realised he had real talent for music when his debut LP ‘TRU Life’ was released in 2014 by ‘True Music Records’ (A Label which was co-founded by COLL) on all major digital outlets. The LP was Supported by BBC Introducing, Future Radio, Mustard TV, UKB and Outline magazine to name a few.
Visuals for ‘Call it Life’ & the heart felt delivery on single ‘High Hopes’ raised COLL’s profile locally. This led to live shows supporting acts ‘Lethal Bizzle’, Grime Legend ‘Sway’, Hip-hop Legends ‘Jungle brothers’ & a spot for COLL at the ‘BBC Radio 1’s’ Academy in Norwich.
2016 started with numerous freestyles released every Friday for 20 weeks on his Youtube channel to follow up the melodic single ‘What They Call Me’. COLL went on to have live shows for iluvlive London with a full band, The Princes Trust & Epic Studios.
The first single taken from COLL’s next EP release ‘Take it slow’ was released on December 19th 2017. The song received support from Link up tv, complex, certified uk, Urban vault, BBC Norfolk introducing, Demon Fm and triple hq to name a few.
His second single ‘In My lifetime’ was released on February 11th 2018 via an exclusive premiere by Urban Vault. In My lifetime was recently named track of the week by UK blog People of paper.
COLL’s EP Blue Magic was released on March 29th 2018 via a premiere by Urban Vault. The EP is now available to buy & download. COLL will be performing at this years Sundown Festival in Norwich on Sunday 2nd September.
